For the 49th consecutive year, the Home Builders Association of Fargo-Moorhead is proud to present its showcase of area builders in the Spring Parade of Homes. The 2009 Parade will run nine days, April 25 - May 3, covering two weekends for consumer convenience. Hours are Saturday and Sunday, noon-5 p.m. and Monday through Friday 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Admission is free, and the event will be a scattered-site tour of 70 homes throughout the Fargo-Moorhead metro area built with pride by 46 HBA of F-M builder members. Houses range in price from just under $103,000 to over $725,000. This includes homes for those 55 and better, first-time buyers, people who need more space, and those needing to downsize. They are spread throughout the communities of Dilworth,
Complimentary Parade of Homes magazines detailing each home entry will be available at all Hornbacher’s stores April 20-May 3. Consumers may also visit the Parade of Homes’ Web site at www.hbafm.com beginning April 20.
The magazine and Web site are designed to help consumers explore the event and its entries. The magazine will be a full-color, glossy publication with a half page dedicated to each home entry. Homes will be represented in full color, 3-D renderings with a floor plan option for builders who choose to include it. It will include detailed maps to each Parade entry, as well as a condensed listing of all homes entered in the event.
The interactive Web site will allow consumers to browse homes, view maps and look for builders. It will be available online until the next Parade begins in September.
Each year, HBA members volunteer Parade of Homes entries priced $500,000 and higher to be "featured" homes in a fundraising effort to support their industry, association and charity. Three homes will be showcased: one by Designer Homes of Fargo-Moorhead in West Fargo’s Osgood for $514,900; one by Heritage Homes in West Fargo’s Charleswood for $589,900; and one by Heritage Homes in
The homes' individual features include gourmet kitchen, two-level island, pantry, custom cabinets, glass shower with metallic tile, full bar, high definition movie theater system with 125" screen, catwalk, pond location, entertainment center, open floor plan, quartz countertops and oversized wine cellar. The cost to tour all three homes is $5. Money raised will go to Home Builders Care Foundation, the HBA's charitable foundation. It supports skill training, education and projects related to the housing industry.
